Running Horses

 

Watercolor is a painting method, in which the paint used in this method is made from color pigments mixed with water solvent. Because it uses less water, the colors and images produced when using watercolors are soft and beautiful. In fact, many people prefer to use watercolors for painting than using ordinary paints that are thicker.

But the development of digital technology today makes it possible for everyone to make watercolor paintings digitally. The image above is an example of a digital watercolor painting that I made using photoshop. The original image of running horses can find here. The brief methods to create the above image are as follows :

1. Using multi-layer + layer mask (background, horses)
2. For the background using 3 layers, the blending mode used is normal mode + overlay (opacity 65%) + soft light (opacity about 100%)
3. For the running horses using 2 layers, the blending mode used is normal mode + hard light (opacity about 70%)
4. To create a watercolor painting effect, each image uses the filter - noise - greyCstoration, after that use the filter - artistic - watercolor
5. Use the watercolor effect brush tools for layer masks
6. Then sharpen each image using the filter - sharpen - smart sharpen
7. To create a painting effect on canvas using filter - filter gallery - texture- texturizer (canvas)
8. Lighting effects using brightness and contrast (with contrast -15, and brightness 14)
9. Color effects using vibrance (with vibrance 0, and saturation -25)
10. Image size used 1380 px; 1000 px, resolution 300 ppi

Please mind, the method used as mentioned above really depends on how your creativity is.
