Who doesn't know a rhino? This wild animal with horns was very interesting for me to paint digitally. In this article I show you a digital painting of an angry rhino. I made this painting using an acrylic painting effect technique using photoshop.
For painting the angry rhino, the original image source can find here: link
How to create the angry rhino painting above using acrylic painting effect? Below the technique I use:
- Use resolution 300 ppi, and image size used 1380 px; 1380 px,
- For the background & rhino using multi-layer + layer mask
- Create an acrylic painting effect for the background using the acrylic effect brush tools
- For the background using a single layer, the blending mode used is normal mode (opacity 100%)
- For the model rhino using 2 layers, the blending mode used is normal mode (opacity 100%) + overlay (opacity 37%)
- For each image uses the filter - noise - greyCstoration, after that use the filter - artistic - watercolor
- Use the acrylic effect brush tools for layer masks
- Then sharpen each image using the filter - sharpen - smart sharpen
- Lighting effects using brightness and contrast (with contrast -34, and brightness 75)
- Color effects using vibrance (with vibrance 0, and saturation -30)
The method used as mentioned above really depends on how your taste and creativity are.
