The Smiling Lady in Purple Kebaya

 

As a national dress for Indonesian women, kebaya is the right choice for women who want to look fashionable, elegant, and modern without forgetting the traditional touch. Your curves will be perfectly wrapped with the selection of the right kebaya model. Currently, the kebaya designs are not only diverse, but the kebaya materials used are also more diverse, from silk, organdy, cotton, tulle, brocade, stretch, to jeans.

In several previous posts, I have presented a digital painting of a woman in kebaya, and in this post, I will present a digital painting of an Indonesian lady in purple modern kebaya. For this image, I tried to explore the beauty of full color in a watercolor effect technique using photoshop. The steps and methods I used in create the painting are as follows:

1. The image size I'm using is 1380 px X 1380 px, with an image resolution of 300 ppi
2. Create the background with a colorful watercolor effect using watercolor brush tools according to your imagination
3. The painting is a combination of 2 different images, i.e. the model and wildflowers. The original image of the model can be found here, and the original image of wildflowers can be found here
4. Duplicate the background image that has been made, change the blend mode to soft light (opacity 86%);
5. Place the image of the model on top of the background layer, use the layer mask technique to display the model's image without a background
6. Place the image of the wildflowers on top of the model image
7. For each image (background, the model, and wildflowers use the filter - noise - greyCstoration, after that use the filter - artistic - watercolor
8. Duplicate the model image that has been made, change the blend mode to overlay (opacity 79%);
9. Use the watercolor effect brush tools for layer masks on the model.
10. The wildflowers use the blend mode to hard light (opacity 100%)
11. To create a painting effect on canvas using filter - filter gallery - texture- texturizer (canvas)
12. Color effects using vibrance (with vibrance 0, and saturation -15)
13. Lighting effects using brightness and contrast (with contrast -26, and brightness 27)
14. The stages mentioned above are not absolute, because they can be adjusted to the desires and creativity of each of you
