Samurai Girl in Digital Painting

 

Talking about the samurai, usually, we will immediately imagine Japanese knights with their samurai swords and fighting skills with extraordinary swords. Most people believe that samurai are men. However, there were women who received the same training as male samurai. So far, historical texts do not talk too much about female knights so that most people think female samurai are very rare.

Based on the explanation above, I am interested in painting a female samurai digitally. The original image of the samurai girl can find here. The brief methods to create the above image are as follows :

1. Image size used 1380 px; 1380 px, resolution 300 ppi
2. Using multi-layer + layer mask (background, girl model, wildflower)
3. For the background using 3 layers, the blending mode used is normal mode (opacity 100%) + overlay (opacity 72%) + linear burn (opacity 63%)
4. For the samurai girl model using 2 layers, the blending mode used is normal mode (opacity 100%) + overlay (opacity 75%)
5. For the wildflowers each using 2 layers,  the blending mode used is color burn (opacity 100%) + color burn (opacity 72%)
6. To create a watercolor painting effect, each image uses the filter - noise - greyCstoration, after that use the filter - artistic - watercolor
7. Use the watercolor effect brush tools for layer masks
8. Then sharpen each image using the filter - sharpen - smart sharpen
9. To create a painting effect on canvas using filter - filter gallery - texture- texturizer (canvas)
10. Lighting effects using brightness and contrast (with contrast -30, and brightness 41)
11. Color effects using vibrance (with vibrance 0, and saturation -18)

Keep in mind, the way to make digital paintings as mentioned above is relative, because the soul of art depends on each person
